The protection of minors was another issue and scandal that raised its head some 15 or 20 years ago.
The latest and biggest scandal is about the promiscuous of cardinals, bishops, priests and seminarians.
This scandal was given a thrust by the disgraceful story of ex Cardinal McCarrick, the former archbishop of Washington.
McCarrick had been sexually promiscuous for decades with seminarians and young priests.
And in spite of his sex life he was promoted and promoted.
He also saw to it that many of the priests and seminarians he abused went on to become bishops too.
The Vatican knew about McCarrick and covered up for him too – because he kept sending millions of dollars to the Vatican.
The Church has addressed the question of the protection of minors. There are child protection people in every diocese and parish.
So, there is no need for the Vatican to have February’s conference on minors.
They should be concentrating on the sexual abuse of adults by bishops, priests and seminarians.
They need to discuss:
- The sexual predatory activities of cardinals, bishops, priests and seminarians.
- The homosexualization of the hierarchy and clergy.
- The widespread presence of sexually active clerical cabals in every diocese.
- The widespread phenomenon of seminaries turning into gay clubs.
- The phenomenon of seminary staff having sex with seminarians.
These are the CURRENT scandals – not the protection of minors – but of course the protection of minors must always be kept at its best.

Of course they don’t want to discuss reality, as frank open discussion threatens the whole system, as this blog demonstrates every day. I cannot think of any other profession with such an overwhelming proportion of gay men, yet proclaims they should not be there at all. So what is there to talk about – the truth? I don’t think so! Add to that the trads who are terrified of any change in the Church’s teaching which might actually make sense of people’s lives, and we’re all on a highway to nowhere. ( You’ll all be glad to know by the way that +Vinny has now risen from his sick bed, where he has had time to get his story ready for the Birmingham inquiry. )

Pat, this conference is urgent and absolutely necessary. If the conference was to focus only on the responsibility of bishop’s failures and church wrongdoing of cover ups – reckless and criminal – you’d complain. You will always find fault no matter what efforts the Church engages in. I do accept that Pope Francis needs to call bishops to open, honest and urgent accountability. Those of us on the ground experience great difficulties as we are the “face” of the institution. However, survivors and the protection of minors and vulnerable must always be paramount.

Of course they will ignore and cover up their scandals or at best pay lip service to them. It’s what they are good at. There’s no way they will tackle the real issues. This exclusive old club of rogues will go to the ends of the earth to cover up its members misdeeds. If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny. Whilst everyone is aware of the lies and mis statements of the current POTUS , the RC hierarchy have been lying for years. Wouldn’t it be interesting if Muller when he’s finished with Trump, investigated this crowd. Now there’s an idea. If the RC church are really interested in clearing out the abusers, liars, coverup merchants then appoint an independent special counsel to investigate and report with no one off limits. If they are so virtuous and Christlike why would they not? Except they have NO desire to allow their filth to become full public knowledge

How, Pat, do you know that to be true?
Are seminarians, sexually abused by the likes of McCarrick and his ilk, not more likely to end up broken men who don’t go on to be ordained priests – never mind bishops?
Undoubtedly McCarrick promoted his “favourites” and ensured their “rise”; but are they not more likely to have been accomplices and complicit with him – turning a blind eye – the “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” types?
These are the types that become bishops – not victims of McCarrick’s and others’ abuse of power.

Some of the seminarians and young priests sexually abused/assaulted by Mc Carrick, while unhappy with his actions, may have been gay themselves and co-operated with him and stayed friends with him.
He obliged by having them later made bishops – as he had big influence in Rome because of all the millions he gave the Vatican.

I listened, with ever-burgeoning amazement, to that bloated bastardo, the late Bishop Robert Morlino, warn of the actual existence of Hell.
I wonder whether any of his fawning clergy had the moral backbone to tell this traditionalist, homophobic bigot that gluttony was still one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
I’ll say it again: show me a grossly obese person, and I’ll show you a likely sexual deviant.
Morlino was absolutely obsessed with the sex lives of gay couples, especially if they were male. He seems to have got his ‘jollies’ from fixating on this, even going so far as to approve barring the surviving male parner of a same-sex marriage from attending his lover’s funeral.
Watch the video above and marvel at how much flesh Morlino was carrying. He was so grossly fat, he could barely speak audibly.

Pat, I’ve just watched Fr. Tony Coote’s RTE documentary on his Walk of Awareness for Motor Neuron Disease. This wonderfully good priest and human being has achieved so much in his life. He has inspired thousands by his serenity of inner attitude living with Motor Neuron, has inspired many people, young and old with his kindness and understanding. Fr. Tony has been an inspiration on this journey. His legacy will far outlive your legacy because he is a guy who genuinely knows how to live well with immense goodness, love, compassion and spirit. “Christ in Him” has been radiating out all through the walk he undertook. What a wonderful priest. What a wonderful human being – bringing hope, peace, goidwill and healing to so many. He deserves our prayers and gratitude for teaching us how to live and love well and has demonstrated the futility of hatred, vengance and spitefulness which, sadly, underpin this blog!
