An Armagh priest, who I trust completely, told me that the now Fr Ryan Mc Aleer was sexually assaulted by another Armagh priest when he was a seminarian.
This information is known to several Armagh priests and at least one other diocesan priest.
My priest informant says that Ryan was very distressed after the attack.
It’s more than possible, in my mind, that this assault may have had a long lasting affect on Ryan and may partly explain his difficulties?

Very good point 12.27am – in truth there are examples and stories of priests sexually abusing and criminally assaulting seminarians, deacons, fellow clergy. I cannot be sure what year where change was definitive but sometime in the 90’s, it is clear, that many men who entered seminaries were pursuing a subculture lifestyle under the guise of being a priest. Priesthood was a consequence of their choice not the actual choice. Far too early yet to see what was actually happening but the damage is already evident in their lives.

Ryan may not have been far into his 20s? And was constantly being told by a very similar sort of authorities that priesthood was glorious? That everything that issues forth from a priest is sacramental? (When the reality of sacraments was at its end.)

11.28 Armagh diocese in my view “pursued” Ryan Mc Aleer. In the person of Fr. Patrick Rushe who was then Vocations Director or Assistant Vocations Director, don’t remember , Ryan was extended hospitality and restaurant visit/s as a final year student in Dungannon. I was invited along as the Gooseberry or Paddy wanted a free comedy show in my person, but I remember the alarm ( my own story remembered) in my thinking when Ryan said at the table that Saturday evening, I can supply the date and restaurant venue in Drogheda, “everybody in my class thinks I am gay because I want to be a priest.” I was sufficiently grown up by then to realise that Ryan was unaware that he most probably was gay. The Vocations Director or Assistant director quickly moved the subject on. The young man then reminded me of myself in 5th year at school ( Not 6Th). But pursued and encouraged. The workings within his maturation were definitely usurped by those in the church “seeking vocations.” I kept diary entries and notes on conversations through many years of my life. Brady, Bergin, that nun ( on the schools) Eamon and others were remiss in duty of care to this man. If he has( I do not know) broken the law or committed a crime, well those wheels will turn. If he has not, with care, his future should be clear to him very soon. I remember telling a priest I respected that I was going to write a letter to the seminarians to tell them what it was really like; he wisely told me not to, i didn’t . I was once asked as a young priest to speak at a vocations weekend, I answered their questions as is my way, I was never asked again. Pursued he was, talented, extremely bright, of pleasant bearing and a life guard as well. Just what they liked to be their salesmen. Product no longer wanted in Ireland.

Mark Moriarty was previously seminarian for the Diocese of Kerry. While in Maynooth it is not an unreasonable to assert that his behaviour was questionable. Cast your mind back to the so-called “summer of love”. For a period of time Mark Moriarty was living in a presbytery outside Killarney having been told he would not be ordained a Deacon for the Diocese of Kerry by Bishop Ray Browne. He was permitted to reside in the presbytery in order to “complete his studies”.
While in Maynooth Mark Moriarty was friendly with Sean Jones. Eventually, Sean Jones was ordained a priest in his home parish of Moyvane having made a sworn statement that photographs published by Bishop Pat that were taken from his Grinder profile while he was in Maynooth were fake. In fact Jones denied having a Grindr profile. Bishop Browne ordained Jones in order to spite Bishop Pat Buckley. This is a view that is held and accepted by some priests in the Diocese of Kerry.
The photographs published on the blog today evidence that Mark Moriarty was also friendly with Stephen Wilson. After all, it is a long journey from Kerry to the home parish of Fr Wilson. Birds of a feather do flock together.
When I looked at the photographs on the blog this morning, I legitimately wondered was Fr Wilson absolving an accomplice in sin or imparting the blessing traditionally given by the newly ordained priest? Perhaps, he was doing both.

I have news for you, in 2022 if you have your picture taken in a room full of people you can basically assume you’ve lost control of it. Just as you can usually assume you’re on CCTV unless you know you’re not.

11.34 surely a church financed by the public is not a private property, not the same as a persons home & the guards will investigate burglaries & other crimes that take place in private homes. Still, it’s a great reason not to go in a church, one could be accused of trespassing if they officially private property.

For the umpteenth time, who supposedly owns the property is not what defines whether it’s private or public. If you can just walk into a place it is public but if there is a locked door it’s private.
So during times of services a church is public if you can walk in.
Outside of this it’s private if it is locked.
If a service is held in a place not open to the public and by invitation only it’s private.
Just for comparison usually an office would legally be a private place because you can’t just walk in – but what happens in there would be governed by employment law.
The staff only parts of a building are also not public.
Further relevant examples:
Consensual gay sex in the kitchen of a closed and locked school wouldn’t attract any legal censure.
Gay sex in a gay sauna also wouldn’t be a problem because it is consensual in a setting set up for it and not visible from outside.
The only time this comes a cropper would be if you can see in. If you commit an indecent act in a private place which is visible from a public place it would be treated as a public act, for example sex in your house and visible from the street.
Ironically a locked church would be legally quite a good place for kinky sex if it has stained glass and people can’t see in.
The priest in the US who had sex on the altar of his church only got into legal trouble because people could see in through a clear window.

He is in the know. But I do now wonder, was it a RC Bishop who led that priest along, not taking from the priests own culpability, but if that stuff happened, it belongs to a culture however deviant. 5:06 The Bishop wasn’t concerned about them not being in communion… he knew that chaldeans don’t need to be confirmed, because they receive chrismation at baptism. They are fully in communion with Rome but those kids were already confirmed. It’s forbidden for a Roman Bishop to offer sacraments of initiation to Eastern Catholics without permission because doing so would canonically transfer them from Eastern Rites to Roman Rite.

I complained to Armagh. Nothing was done. The process was followed and lipservice was given. I now have a greater strength to fight. For those of you silenced laymen or priests of Armagh, now is the time to call a halt and out the failures in office. The church turned its back on me and now I see why – Armagh will see huge revelations – and they will keep coming.
